An Original Vintage Hardcover Book (measures 8 1/4" x 10 3/4"; 255 pages) (Learn More) The Theory & Practice of Poster Art, the 1934 classic book by Duke Wellington, detailing various techniques of poster artistry and the reasons behind them. The book details every aspect of how movie posters were made in the 1920s and 1930s and is profusely illustrated throughout, with lots of movie posters of the 1920s and 1930s, many of which are in the process of being created. Note that this original 1934 edition of the book is incredibly rare! Note that this book is SO rare that there was a 1986 facsimile edition. The reason this book was reprinted was to serve as a textbook to the basic principles of poster design, which were just as applicable in 1986 (or the present day) as they were in 1934. Important Added Info: Note that this is the 1986 facsimile edition. We have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that on all hardcover books, the buyer must pay the actual cost of shipping (but if you solely buy books, or if you want the books shipped separately, they can be shipped in the U.S. only via "Media Mail", which is much less expensive than Priority Mail; unfortunately, there is no similar service outside the U.S. to Media Mail). So bear the above in mind before placing a bid on this book. Condition: very good to fine. There is some minor scuffing on the covers. Learn More about condition grades
