A 1966 Re-Release Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, the classic 1959 Alfred Hitchcock romantic crime suspense thriller ("The Master of Suspense weaves his greatest tale... about a secret that nobody knew... a man who never existed... and a love affair that began in an upper berth - and ended in screaming death!"; "From the killer plane in the cornfield to the cliff-hanger on George Washington's nose, it's suspense in every direction!"; "The master of suspense spins his greatest tale"; "A train may be an old-fashioned way to travel, but an upper berth can be a lovely way to go - When It's Your Time To Go......"; "Breathless excitement that races from glittering Manhattan to the great stone faces of Mt. Rushmore!"; "Written by Ernest Lehman") starring Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint, James Mason, Jessie Royce Landis, Leo G. Carroll, Martin Landau, Edward Platt, and Phillip Ober NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that, in 1966, MGM re-released this classic 1959 Alfred Hitchcock movie, and created new posters that most collectors feel are superior to that of the original! It has the classic scene of Cary Grant being chased by the crop duster biplane, plus it shows Mt. Rushmore (and Hitchcock is one of the faces!), plus there is an image of Hitchcock holding a giant hand, plus there is a new tagline that reads, "Only Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock ever gave you so much suspense in so many directions so we brought it back!" Condition: good to very good. There is much black marker writing along the upper vertical foldline from the upper crossfold to the edge. Someone painted over that area on back however the marker still slightly bleeds through to the front (see our image). It has small separation in the upper crossfold and upper vertical foldline edge (which has some small paper loss) and those two areas are repaired with restoration tape from the back. The poster otherwise has only some light fold and border wear and a few light creases scattered in various areas that are not very noticeable and it is otherwise in pretty nice condition. The marker bleed-through only affects an area of blank paper and after a relatively simple linenbacking to correct the defect it would look fantastic (although certainly it could be displayed as is).
