An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #1 ("The Black Ghost Rides") Movie Indian Herald (measures 5 1/2" x 8" [14 x 20 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) The Last Frontier, the 1932 Spencer Gordon Bennet & Thomas Storey cowboy western serial ("Courtney Ryley Cooper's red-blooded drama of fighting men and fighting days") starring Lon Chaney Jr. (billed as "Creighton Chaney"), Dorothy Gulliver, Ralph Bushman (billed as "Francis X. Bushman, Jr."; son of the famous actor, and he was billed that way to improve his popularity; he made lots of movies in the 1920s through the early 1940s, and then he completely retired in 1943), Joe Bonomo (famous strong man who vied with Charles Atlas for the "Most Perfect Man", he appeared in 32 movies, but like Atlas, his primary business was selling books and pamphlets telling how to acquire a body like his!), Yakima Canutt, and Mary Jo Desmond NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that it was very common from the 1930s on for U.S. heralds to be shipped to India and Pakistan, where they would be overprinted on the back with information about specific theaters (but they were printed in English, no doubt due to the large English population in those countries). However, this herald has information about distribution in India printed on the front, so it seems surely to be a true "Indian" herald, printed in India for use in theaters in India. Also, note that while the herald has a 1938 date printed on the back, the herald itself was likely printed earlier and that date was added later along with the other specific theater info (this is also quite common on heralds). Condition: good. There are two punch holes in the top (one at the top of each cover). Learn More about condition grades
