An Original Vintage English Campaign Book (measures 11 1/2" x 16 3/4" [29 x 43 cm]; 36 pages) (Learn More)

Gaumont British Pictures 1935-36, the 1935 English spiral-bound campaign book ("Challenging the world") sent to theater owners to encourage them to show their new movies. This is REALLY cool! Not only does it have a number of pages showing the many great stars working for them at this time, but it also has wonderful full-color full-page images for upcoming movies, including The 39 Steps (Alfred Hitchcock), The Tunnel (Conrad Veidt), Rhodes of Africa (Walter Huston), Soldiers Three (Rudyard Kipling), King of the Damned (Conrad Veidt), The Clairvoyant (Fay Wray and Claude Rains), Passing of the Third Floor Back (Conrad Veidt), The Secret Agent (Alfred Hitchcock), Dr. Nikola (Boris Karloff), and many, many more! Some of these movies were made with different cast members, and some were never made at all, but all have really wonderful art. Campaign books in general are extremely rare, but ones from England are beyond rare!

Artist: Roy Carnon (cover art)
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this English campaign book!

Note: We have 16 images of this campaign book, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 16 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 6.

Condition: good to very good. There are many scuffs and some surface paper loss on the blank back cover and scuffs scattered on the front cover. The first interior blank page had something taped to it, and there is some surface paper loss where that item was removed. The interior pages have pretty minor wear and are generally in pretty nice condition!
