A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" [14 x 22 cm]; 278 pages) (Learn More) Lucille Ball was an actress from the 1930s to the 1980s. While many people only know her as the star of TV's "I Love Lucy" (perhaps the most successful TV sitcom of all time), she had a long career at RKO for over ten years prior, and some of her movies include: Top Hat, Stage Door, Mame, Valley of the Sun, and the Dark Corner. In addition to appearing on the "I Love Lucy" TV show (and its several follow-up shows without her husband, former bandleader Desi Arnaz), the couple also made the movies "The Long, Long Trailer", and "Forever Darling". She passed away in 1989 at the age of 77. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Lucille Ball on the first title page (the book is from 1976, but Miss Ball signed it in 1978)! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. Note that this item was consigned to us by an individual who owned a company that made movies and videos with famous celebrities in the 1980s and 1990s. The owner of the company would have the celebrities sign items from their famous films, and he also had correspondence with many famous celebrities which he saved. In addition, he would sometimes ask celebrities he came in contact with if they had signed items from other stars that they would sell to him, and he purchased a number of items that way. He also would purchase unsigned items from the famed Larry Edmunds Bookshop in Los Angeles or from other reputable Hollywood book stores and poster shops (to have the celebrities sign), and while he was doing that he would also purchase some of their signed items. So all of these autographed items we are auctioning were either obtained in person, obtained from celebrities who obtained them in person, or obtained from reputable Hollywood book stores, and we feel certain that the autograph(s) on this item is authentic. Condition: good to very good. The spine has slightly cracked after the page that was signed (surely from being opened and closed too often). There is slight wear at the bottom of the back cover of the binding and a tear in the top of the front of the dust jacket. Otherwise, the book is in pretty nice condition.
