An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Stage Show Still (Learn More)

George Gobel was a stand-up comedian and actor from the 1950s to the 1980s. He started as a singer with cowboy bands in the 1930s, and was known as "Little George Gobel". After service in World War II, he got his own TV show ("The George Gobel Show"), and with his trademark brush cut and his "every man" persona, he became very popular as "Lonesome George" Gobel. After Charlie Weaver died, he replaced him as the "center square" on TV's "Hollywood Squares". Some of his movies include: I Married a Woman, Rabbit Test, and Ellie. He passed away in 1991 at the age of 71.
Important Added Info: Note that everyone of a certain age is well familiar with "Lonesome George" Gobel, but how many of you ever heard of him when he was a teenager, and was originally "Little George" Gobel? This wonderful deluxe still shows him far and away the youngest we have ever seen him, and our consignor says that he was 17 when this photo was taken! Also note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock.

Condition: good. There are faint stains scattered throughout the still, but the ones in the image area are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light. The still can be displayed as it is, but please bear the above in mind before placing a bid.
