An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12" x 18" [30 x 46 cm]; 10 pages) (Learn More)

Flight From Glory, the 1937 Lew Landers Argentina South America airplane aviation pilot romantic love triangle adventure thriller starring Chester Morris, Whitney Bourne, Onslow Stevens, Van Heflin (in his third movie ever!), Richard Lane, Paul Guilfoyle, and Rita La Roy. Note that this movie has a VERY similar plot to that of "Only Angels Have Wings", the classic movie that was made two years after this, so it would seem like that movie borrowed heavily from this one, but actually, both movies borrow heavily from the 1932 movie "Air Mail"! All three movies have different credited writers. It seems that it was a very common practice in the 1930s for writers to borrow from recent movies (even ones from other studios), and apparently, the studios tolerated it, as long as it went both ways. Note that one of the lead actors is played by Van Heflin, and this was a giant break for him (along with "Annapolis Salute", made the same year). Most people do not realize he had significant roles in the 1930s, because they think of him as a 1940s or 1950s actor!
