2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, the 1921 Emmett J. Flynn silent science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy adventure comedy ("William Fox presents Mark Twain's Greatest Comedy"; originally written in 1889, about a then present day man sent back to medieval times, and he appears to be a wizard thanks to his much greater knowledge; one could make a similar movie today about a man from the 2020s visiting 1889 Connecticut, and it he would have similar wizard-like abilities!) starring Harry Myers (in the title role as Martin Cavendish, The Yankee), Pauline Starke, Rosemary Theby (as Queen Morgan le Fay), Charles Clary (as King Arthur), William V. Mong (as Merlin), and Karl Formes (as Mark Twain). Note that this movie was remade as "A Connecticut Yankee" in 1931 starring Will Rogers, in 1949 starring Bing Crosby, and also as a TV movie in 1955 starring Eddie Albert and Boris Karloff! Only 3 reels of this film survive.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two stills and a different lobby card from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received these two lobby cards! In addition, the other lobby card that we auctioned (13 years ago) lacked the "FOX ENTERTAINMENTS" at lower left and lower right that these two cards have, so there is a possibility that the other card was a re-release, but otherwise, it was identical to these in layout and text, so we can't say for certain. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: good to very good. The card at the top of our image has paper loss in the top right blank corner and a light stain in the left of the bottom grey border. The card at the bottom of our image has a small tear in the lower right blank border and some wear in the outer edge of the left of the bottom blank border. Both cards have slight darkening in the extreme outer edges of all borders. Otherwise, they are in pretty nice condition!
