Evensong, the 1934 Victor Saville English Australia romantic biographical opera musical ("Based on the play by Edward Knoblock & Beverley Nichols and adapted from Beverley Nichols' novel."; about the great Irish opera singer, Maggie O'Neil, who performed in Australia for many years, under the name of Madame Irela, in tribute to her Irish heritage; the movie covers the final 20 years of her life when she is aging, and she knows that she will not remain at the top forever, which makes her even more of a "diva" than she had been in her prime, and she faces a soon-to-be major star who will supplant her, Baba L'Etoile) starring Evelyn Laye (as Madame Irela/Maggie O'Neil), Fritz Kortner, Emlyn Williams, Carl Esmond, Alice Delysia, Conchita Supervia (as Baba L'Etoile), and Alec Guinness (uncredited, in his first movie appearance as a soldier in the audience at a concert!)

Condition: good to very good. There is a small tear in the center of the top and bottom borders (the one at top runs into the woman's hat). The left blank border has been partially trimmed.
