An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More)

The Vampire Bat, the 1933 Frank R. Strayer horror murder mystery thriller ("Do human vampires really exist?"; set in an unnamed European country, about a mad scientist who needs living human tissue to conduct his wacky experiments, and he makes it look like vampires are killing the people who he has killed by leaving puncture marks on their necks and draining their blood) starring Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Melvyn Douglas, Maude Eburne, George E. Stone, and Dwight Frye

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that original poster material from this very early vampire movie has always been extremely rare! However (likely because it is from it is from Majestic Pictures, and NOT from Universal), the posters sell for only a small fraction of the prices of Universal horror posters from the same time period! In all the 19 years we have sold hundreds of thousands of posters, we have only sold two other posters on this movie (which were also inserts), and they were also in much lesser condition, and we sold them for $743 and $1080!

Condition: fair to good. The poster has completely separated across all three foldlines. Many years ago, someone put tape on the back of all three foldlines, but the tape is gone from the back of the top and bottom foldlines, so the top and bottom sections of the poster are now completely separated, and the middle two sections are held together by old tape. The poster received water staining at some point and there are many stains in the right 4" of the bottom half of the poster. There is water staining in the right 2" of the top half of the poster. The water staining is worst in the middle right of the poster, where it has greatly affected the green background area, and much of the "RAY" of "WRAY" beneath it. The poster had been folded in half an extra time long ago, and someone put tape on the back of each of the four sections of the poster, for reinforcement. Clearly, this poster has many problems, but it is also true that a talented restorer can remove the tape, and perhaps much of the water staining in the right side through chemical means, and after proper restoration, the poster will look great, and the restoration needed will be primarily in the areas described above. But please do not bid on this poster unless you have carefully read the above and carefully studied our super-sized image, and can accept the many defects this poster has or are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
