An Original Vintage Theatrical 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Daddy's Gone A-Hunting, the 1925 Frank Borzage silent romantic love triangle family relationship melodrama ("adapted by Kenneth B. Clarke from the famous stage play by Zoe Akins"; "Produced by Louis B. Mayer"; a really wild story of a painter who convinces his wife to take a menial job and care for their daughter alone while he spends a year in Paris to gain inspiration; when he comes back, he realizes he has lost his love for her, and she finds a man willing to marry her and adopt her daughter, the father realizes what a fool he has been, and he paints a painting called "Realization", which gives him great fame, but does not win him back his family, but when the daughter is fatally wounded, and after watching her die in a hospital bed, the parents decide to reunite) starring Alice Joyce, Percy Marmont, Helena D'Algy, Virginia Marshall, and Ford Sterling. Note that this movie was remade in 1931 as "Women Love Once". There is a 1969 movie with the same title as this movie, but they are otherwise unrelated. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the movie is called "A Man's World" on the back of this still, which was the working title for this movie! Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. Note that not only does our current auction of 999 stills represent the absolute finest selection we have ever had in terms of quality of image and film, but it also represents the finest CONDITION group of stills we have ever had! Half of the stills are graded as being in "very good to fine" condition (which is our highest grade for vintage stills), but we were very strict on this, because otherwise, perhaps two thirds or three quarters of the stills would have received this grade! We downgraded stills to "very good" for pretty minor defects, and many of these might have received our "very good to fine" grade in the past. And the half of the stills that ARE in very good to fine condition would likely be graded "mint" by any other auction! This is the finest group of stills I have ever seen, and I can only hope to equal it someday! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
