An Original Vintage Cinemascope Projector Lens (measures 5" x 5" x 15" [13 x 13 x 38 cm]) (Learn More) CinemaScope is an anamorphic lens series from 1953 to 1967 (and less often later) which was used for shooting widescreen films that could be screened in theaters using existing equipment with a lens adapter. CinemaScope was created by Spyros P. Skouras, the president of 20th Century Fox, and marked the beginning of the modern anamorphic format. Although CinemaScope technology is obsolete, its anamorphic format is still used today. Bausch & Lomb won a 1954 Oscar for its development of the CinemaScope lens. Important Added Info: Note that this is a first generation Bausch and Lomb lens used in the CinemaScope process! It is VERY heavy and it will need to be sent in a large package so bear this added expense in mind before bidding. Condition: good to very good. The lens has general wear (see our image). We do not know if it is still functional and we have no way to test it, so please bear this in mind before bidding. Learn More about condition grades
