Charley's Aunt, the 1925 Scott Sidney silent cross-dressing romantic comedy ("The funniest farce in 40 years"; "From the play that made millions laugh"; "'Enough to make a cat laugh!'"; "From the play that made millions laugh by Brandon Thomas"; the much used plot which has been made as a movie under this title seven different times!; about two students at Oxford University who want their girlfriends to visit them, but they need a chaperone, and they get a friend at school to pretend to be one of their "aunts", even to the point of dressing in old lady clothes) starring Syd Chaplin (in the title role; billed on some items as "Sidney Chaplin"; "As Auntie - from Brazil where the nuts come from"), Ethel Shannon, James Page, Lucien Littlefield, and Alec Francis

Important Added Info: Note that this German program has an added 4-page cover! When important movies like this would play at local theaters, they would sometimes print their own added cover that was for their specific theater and they would bind it over the generic program (in this case, that added cover only has printing on the cover and inside cover and the back cover and inside back cover are blank). We have only seen a couple of other early German programs like this! We have pictured the front of the added cover, and also two interior 2-page spreads (which show you the regular front and back cover as well). Also note that German programs from the early 1920s are INCREDIBLY scarce, especially from major movies. This is almost certainly because of the great paper shortages in Germany during World War II, during which all earlier paper was recycled, which means virtually no pre-World War II German paper survives.

Condition: very good. There is scuffing on the added cover.
