An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French Large Movie Poster (31x47; measures 31 1/2" x 47 1/4" [80 x 120 cm]) (Learn More)

Premier de Cordee (literally translates to "First of Rope"), the 1944 Louis Daquin French mountain climbing romantic adventure melodrama (based on the novel by Roger Frison-Roche; about a man who lives in the French Alps with his Italian wife, and she hates that he spends his days mountain climbing and she is fearful of his dying because of it) starring Irene Corday, Andre le Gall, Yves Furet, Geymond Vital (billed as "Vital"), Louis Seigner, and Maurice Baquet. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this French poster! Not only that, but the only other poster we have auctioned from it was the French one-panel, and it was in much lesser condition. Note that this is an extremely rare French poster from during World War II! Virtually no French posters survive from the mid 1940s or earlier. There were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards! Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie!

Condition: good to very good.
