An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]) (Learn More) The Witness Chair, the 1936 George Nichols Jr. courtroom legal lawyer crime murder romantic love triangle melodrama (a really far fetched story of a woman who is secretary to a man who is accused of murdering his boss; the boss was found dead with a typed confession, but subsequently, evidence was found pointing at the guilt of his employee; the employee's secretary testifies against him, even though she is in love with him, and at the end of a wild murder trial, it turns out that she had killed the man while trying to get him to confess at gunpoint, and even more ridiculous, the judge lets her off because it was self defense, and she is free to marry the man she loves) starring Ann Harding, Walter Abel, Douglass Dumbrille, Frances Sage, Moroni Olsen, and Margaret Hamilton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this window card! We previously auctioned a one-sheet, but that was 22 years ago, and otherwise, we had only auctioned two stills until we were consigned this window card. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 17" [36 x 43 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: poor to fair. The top is trimmed, entering into the word "ANN". There is paper loss in the lower right, but almost completely in the blank background area. There is a tear in the center of the card running up the right side of Harding's face, but there is virtually no paper loss on the tear. Obviously, one would prefer to find a better example of this card, but it is incredibly rare! Learn More about condition grades
