A Folded Danish Travel Poster (measures 24 1/4" x 39 1/4" [62 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) DSB (Danske Statsbaner or Danish State Railways) is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. DSB was founded in 1885 when the state-owned companies De jysk-fynske Statsbaner and De sjaellandske Statsbaner merged. The 1930s were a decade of innovation and modernization for DSB. New railway bridges were built across the Little Belt, the Storstrom and Oddesund (eliminating the costly and time-consuming process of transfer by steam ferry) and the suburban lines in and around Copenhagen were electrified for multiple-unit operation. Artist: Aage Rasmussen Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded back horizontally at one time approximately 11" under the lower edge and then someone placed thumbtacks in the corners of the crease and at upper center. There are several pinholes around the edges of the poster and the poster was similarly (but slightly more lightly) folded back horizontally a few times through the "DSB" title. There is small surface paper loss at lower right. The poster's artwork is otherwise in pretty good condition and if one chose to have it restored it would look great, although I imagine many collectors would be happy with this poster as it is.
