She was a "sex kitten", and was as popular in France as Marilyn Monroe was in the U.S.! She is best known for her roles in And God Created Woman, Le Mepris, Masculin Feminin: 15 Faits Precis, La Verite, and Viva Maria! In the 1970s, she retired and has not made a movie since, but she is very active in animal rights causes and charities. As of 2024, she is still alive at the age of 88! Important Added Info: Note that this is a "studio-issued" transparency that was produced by the studio but is not the camera original. What is a transparency? They are produced by the studio and are very high quality and were created in quantity and sent to media outlets or other places that had need of the very highest quality image for reproduction purposes (in newspapers, magazines, or elsewhere). A clear border around a 4x5 transparency denotes duplication from a negative source, a black border denotes duplication from a positive source. This transparency is in a plastic sleeve (but we removed it and scanned it, so that bidders could see just how high quality it is). It will be sent to the winner of the auction in the plastic sleeve. Condition: fair to good. There are scratch marks in Bardot's face. The color of the transparency has "shifted" from how it originally was.
