An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

Men with Wings, the 1938 William A. Wellman airplane aviation pilot romantic love triangle melodrama (a complete history of aviation from Kitty Hawk through the then present day of 1938, with the fictional framing device of three friends who become interested in aviation as children, and all grow up to play important parts in its development, and they have a love triangle!) starring Fred MacMurray, Ray Milland, Louise Campbell, Andy Devine, Lynne Overman, Porter Hall, Walter Abel, Kitty Kelly, Donald O'Connor (in his first credited role, as Fred MacMurray's character as a young boy!), and Virginia Weidler. Note that many people consider this to be a "forgotten classic". It inspired countless young people who saw it in their youth to become pilots, and William Wellman, who had directed "Wings", was able to do so much more with the aviation sequences in this movie, and it deserves to be "re-discovered".

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had substantial paper loss in the bottom corners, extending into the credits in both areas. It also had pinholes, tears, and paper loss around the edges, and some tiny paper loss on parts of some folds. Overall, the poster was in poor to fair condition prior to linenbacking. The person who restored the poster did not have access to a full image of the poster, and they did a nice job recreating it, EXCEPT they did not know what credit should be in the bottom left corner, and instead of correctly putting in "ANDY DEVINE", they put in "KITTY KELLY"! Obviously, another restorer could repair this mistake, or it could be left as is, because very few people would be aware of the mistake, but please consider the substantial restoration the poster has had and the mistake that was made during restoration before placing a bid on it.
