Screen Snapshots, the 1924 - 1958 Ralph Staub Columbia newsreel documentary shorts that featured behind-the-scenes footage of Hollywood stars of the day at various Hollywood events or parties. Starting around 1930, these short documentaries were almost exclusively written, produced and directed (and occasionally edited and narrated) by Ralph Staub. They usually ran for 9 or 10 minutes and were shown in theaters alongside the main features. Note that we have seen several different one-sheets for this series (including ones from 1932, 1933, 1940, and 1950). The one from 1933 says "New Screen Snapshots", but the others say "Screen Snapshots". We don't know if there were also ones for other years. If anyone knows more about this series of newsreel shorts or their posters, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
