An Original Vintage Theatrical 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" [17 x 22 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

The Kaiser, the Beast of Berlin, the 1918 Rupert Julian silent World War I (WWI) propaganda movie starring Rupert Julian (in the title role as Kaiser Wilhelm), Elmo Lincoln (best remembered for being the very first actor to portray Tarzan in the movies in 1918), Nigel De Brulier, Lon Chaney Sr., and Harry Carter. Note that World War I began in 1914, but the U.S. did not enter the war until April 1917. There are many theories on why this was, some of them very cynical about the U.S. wanting to continue to supply both sides. President Wilson was able to "overlook" many incidents, including the sinking of the Lusitania by the Germans, during which many Americans lost their lives, but finally, the U.S. DID enter the war in April 1917, and immediately, Hollywood made a series of anti-German movies, specifically focused on Kaiser Wilhelm, portraying him as pure evil, and this is one of those movies! Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

Important Added Info: Note that this still measures 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" [17 x 22 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Also note that this still is printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock.

Condition: good to very good. There is paper loss in the bottom left corner and faint scuffing scattered in the still (mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light), as well as creases in the top right corner.
