An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Sheet Music (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) Mr. Texas (also released as "Mister Texas"), the 1951 Dick Ross religious cowboy western starring Redd Harper, Cindy Walker, Billy Graham, Cliff Barrows, and Grady Wilson. Note that this movie is a real oddity! It was created by the famous evangelist, Billy Graham, and was shown around the country, billed as the "first Christian western"! It is 65 minutes long, and there is no gunfire or bad guys in the movie, just a cowboy who leads a wayward life, and his sister goes to a Billy Graham revival and is converted, and she tries to get him to see the light, but he doesn't until he is thrown from a bronco, and he is visited by Billy Graham in the hospital, which causes him to see the light, and he says "All my life I bin ridin' the wrong trail. I'm turnin' back. I'm goin' God's way -- I think it's goin' to be a wonderful ride." It is unclear if the movie ever played in regular theaters, or was just shown in churches, and it has no IMDb listing, which seems just plain wrong! In 1953, Mr. Graham said that 5,000,000 people had viewed the movie, and 135,000 had undergone religious conversion as a result of seeing it! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
