Artist: Saul Bass

Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!).

The poster had small paper loss at each crossfold and many creases, small tears, and small areas of paper loss along many foldlines. There were pinholes around the edges of the poster. There were smudges and scuffs in the solid background areas. The poster was pretty well linenbacked, but you can clearly see signs of restoration on the foldlines and in the background areas, even from a distance.
