A Linenbacked Hungarian Special Poster (measures 18" x 24 1/2" [46 x 62 cm]) (Learn More) XXXIV International Eucharistic Congress, the 1938 Catholic Church gathering of clergy, religious, and laity to bear witness to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, which is an important Roman Catholic doctrine. Congresses bring together people from a wide area, and typically involve large open-air Masses, Eucharistic adoration (Blessed Sacrament), and other devotional ceremonies held over several days. The 1938 Congress was held in Budapest, Hungary. Cardinal Pacelli (later named Pope Pius XII) served as papal legate to the congress, and over 100,000 people from all over the world attended (including 15 cardinals and 330 bishops). Note that this poster was printed in a wide variety of languages, and features art of an angel Artist: MCP Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a 1" tear in the upper right border, with some minor wear in the rest of the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking.
