An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Twenty Thousand Years in Sing Sing, the 1932 Michael Curtiz New York maximum security prison romantic crime thriller ("The story of a thousand men without women... and of their women who can't do without men!"; "By Warden Lewis E. Lawes"; about a prisoner in New York's toughest maximum security prison who is given an honor pass by the warden to visit his injured girlfriend, and the warden's job is on the line if he doesn't return, and he goes the man who attacked her while given the pass, but he returns to face execution) starring Spencer Tracy ("the man doomed by her love"), Bette Davis (made the same year she had her breakout hit in "Cabin in the Cotton"!; "the girl outside who couldn't wait"), Arthur Byron, Louis Calhern, Lyle Talbot, and Hardie Albright. Note that this movie was remade in 1940 as "Castle on the Hudson" starring John Garfield and Ann Sheridan!

Important Added Info: Note that we auctioned an example of this poster 25 years ago, and have never auctioned it since. The one-sheet poster for this movie is all text, so collectors MUCH prefer this great insert, with images of both Bette Davis and Spencer Tracy! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 insert posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts).

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has a 3" vertical scuff mark to the left of Tracy's nose, running down into his upper lip. Someone wrote "211 - DUPLICATE" in the center of the bottom blank border, because this insert came from an amazing collection where the owner numbered his inserts in the bottom blank border and wrote "DUPLICATE" when he had more than one. There is a tiny tear in the center of the top blank border, with two tiny stains to the left and right of it. Other than the above, the insert is in wonderful condition. One can certainly display and enjoy it exactly as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed (either way, the new owner will have an incredibly rare poster to display on their wall!).
