A Linenbacked French Advertising Poster (measures 23 1/4" x 31" [59 x 79 cm]) (Learn More) Lactosine, the 1899 French advertising poster (with a tagline that translates to "The best food for children") promoting the purchase of a "phosphated milk flour" (surely an early version of what is called "baby food" nowadays) from the Doublet & Coutant pharmacy in Bordeaux, France. Note that this poster features Frank Malzac artwork of a woman preparing to feed a child the product. Artist: Frank Malzac Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had three circular punch holes in the left blank border and tears and tiny paper loss scattered across the top 2", with faint stains in the top left corner, almost entirely in the blank area. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
