An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More)

Sabotage (released in the U.S. in 1937 both under its original title and as "The Woman Alone"), the 1936 Alfred Hitchcock English detective mystery crime suspense thriller ("From the novel by Joseph Conrad"; about a group of saboteurs who are causing damage in London, and one of their gang runs a movie theater as a cover, and his wife and her brother help him run it, but they know nothing about the sabotage, and Scotland Yard sends a man to work next door to the theater to catch the gang) starring Sylvia Sidney (billed as "*courtesy of Walter Wanger Productions Inc."), Oscar Homolka, John Loder, Desmond Tester, Joyce Barbour, and William Dewhurst
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.

Condition: good. The card was printed when the movie was being released under the title "Sabotage", but the theater that used it was showing it as "The Woman Alone", so they apparently cut out the title area and then put the new title in in some way, and while we can't determine exactly what occurred, it is certain that there either was considerable damage in the title area or the area was cut out completely. Someone linenbacked the card and did major paint restoration to the title area, re-creating the title of "The Woman Alone", and also doing touch up in the area surrounding it, including in the top of the man's hair, and there is new blue and green paint in the area to the right of the man's hair. Other than this significant defect and restoration, there were some tiny stains in the center of the bottom blank border and some creases, pinholes, and tears around the edges of the card. But much of the image area is not restored and looks great, and the entire card displays well. But please do not bid on this card unless you can accept the significant restoration it has had.
