An Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #9 (The Health Farm Wallop) Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Health Farm Wallop, the 1924 Erle C. Kenton silent boxing sports short starring Jack Dempsey, Esther Ralston, Hayden Stevenson, Edgar Kennedy, and Charles Reisner. Note that this movie was advertised like it was a chapter of a serial, but actually, it was one of ten shorts in a series called "Fight and Win". It is very similar to a series called "The Leather Pushers", made around the same time, and those movies were each called "rounds", to heighten the boxing connection. But each movie was released individually, so they are not serials in the modern sense.

Of course, Jack Dempsey was the heavyweight boxing champion of the world from 1919 to 1926 (finally losing to Gene Tunney after seven years as champion). He made a few movie appearances (and there were also filmed versions of some of his fights). His nickname was "The Manassa Mauler". After his boxing career, he first spent several years fighting exhibition matches (often several opponents in a night!). Dempsey then owned his own restaurant ("The House That Jack Built") on Broadway in New York City in Manhattan (opposite the Madison Square Garden). He passed away in 1983 at the age of 87.

Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card! Not only that, but lobby cards ANY Jack Dempsey shorts are incredibly rare. We have only auctioned four of them in all our years of auctioning. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good to fine. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
