An Undated (probably 1960s) Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47 1/2" x 63" [121 x 160 cm]) (Learn More)

Bob Le Flambeur (released in the U.S. in 1982 as "Bob le Flambeur [Bob The Gambler]"), the classic 1956 Jean-Pierre Melville French crime gambling thriller ("From the father of New Wave film making, Jean-Pierre Melville, comes the undiscovered masterpiece that started it all."; "In the tradition of the great gangster movies of the 1930s, this is a story about a gambler who passes like a prince through the nightclubs and darkened streets of Paris gambling in back rooms 'til dawn. Then one day, broke and down on his luck, he masterminds the biggest gamble of his life ...the robbery of the Deauville Casino.") starring Isabelle Corey (billed as "Isabel Corey"), Daniel Cauchy, Roger Duchesne (in the title role as Robert 'Bob' Montagne), Guy Decomble, and Andre Garet
Artist: Jean Mascii
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie!

UPDATED 04/30/2012: Note that there was a mistake in the Auction Title which initially listed this as a 1982 poster when it is actually a 1960s French re-release poster!

Condition: fair. The poster is extremely fragile and there are separations, tiny tears, and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of some foldlines (it is most in the middle of the left vertical foldline, as seen in our image). But the poster is mostly "all there", and after linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster will look great, and will likely need paint restoration only in the areas of paper loss seen in our image. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its very significant defects and are willing to pay to have them properly restored!
