An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 28 1/4" x 42 1/4" [72 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) Fires of Rebellion, the 1917 Ida May Park silent romantic melodrama (about a small town woman who doesn't want to marry a factory worker, so she goes to the big city, where she gets a job modeling ladies' underwear, which she doesn't like, and she especially doesn't like the unwanted advances from men, but fortunately, her old boyfriend, who was a foreman at the factory, shows up to rescue her just in time) starring Dorothy Phillips, William Stowell (billed as "Wm. Stowell"), Lon Chaney Sr., Belle Bennett, and Golda Madden. Note that we have auctioned the one-sheet from this movie, and Lon Chaney is billed but not pictured. Given that, it is quite possible that he is not pictured on virtually any advertising (other than possibly some lobby cards or stills). We don't know the answer, because movie paper from this title is unbelievably rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. The poster had paper loss at the middle crossfold, with some tears and small paper loss in the left half of the middle fold. It had extra folds, small tears, and some tiny paper loss along the other folds, with pretty minor border wear. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking.
