An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) West Point, the 1927 Edward Sedgwick silent New York military academy cadet football sports romantic melodrama ("Story and continuity by Raymond L. Schrock") starring William Haines, Joan Crawford, William Bakewell, Neil Neely, Ralph Emerson, and Leon Kellar. A collector tells us that this film had a working title of "Eternal Youth" but it was changed so that audiences wouldn't mistake it for a serious drama (we're not sure how the title "West Point" would indicate comedy). We can't confirm if this is true, but given that we have auctioned a herald with the title "Eternal Youth", it seems that at least a few theaters showed it under that name. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
