eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 8p488 MONKEY BUSINESS WC '52 Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, sexy Marilyn Monroe, Charles Coburn Date Sold 2/28/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Howard Hawks' Monkey Business (released in some countries as "Darling I'm Growing Younger", because apparently "Monkey Business" meant nothing in other countries!), the 1952 Howard Hawks fantasy Fountain-of-Youth screwball comedy ("This is Monkey Business... And this is Monkey Business and this is Monkey Business... And of course this is Monkey Business... And thereby hangs a tale!"; "Monkey Business is some fun!"; "Story by Harry Segall"; "Screen Play by Ben Hecht, Charles Lederer and I.A.L. Diamond"; a truly wacky story of an inventor trying to find a "youth serum", and he experiments on chimps, and one of the chimps escapes and manages to create the serum, which the scientist then accidentally takes, and he becomes like a teenager, and then so does his wife!) starring Cary Grant, Ginger Rogers, Charles Coburn, Marilyn Monroe (in a small role as a sexy secretary hired by the now "youthful" Cary Grant), Hugh Marlowe, Henri Letondal, Robert Cornthwaite, Larry Keating, Douglas Spencer, Esther Dale, and George Winslow. Note that after Marilyn Monroe's great success at the start of the 1950s, 20th Century-Fox, who had her under contract, wisely found small parts for her in lots of their movies in 1951 and 1952! Also, note that there is a Marx Bros. movie from 1931 called "Monkey Business", but it has nothing to do with this movie. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the consignor of this window card (and several others we are offering at auction currently) chose to display it in a special way. He folded back the top 4" of the card (which does not affect the image of course), and then he had the card placed in an attractive colored mat. He has sent us both the window cards and the colored mats. We are auctioning only the window card, but if its new owner wishes, we can send the mat that was cut for this window card along with it (but bear in mind that it will cost extra, because it will make the package larger, and the mat can only be used if the new owner re-folds the top 4" of the card). If we are not contacted by the buyer that they want us to send the mat, we will simply send the window card and discard the mat. Condition: good to very good. The top 4" was folded back . There is white conservation tape across the bottom edge of the top folded area, where it was attached to the mat. Learn More about condition grades
