eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result w492 LAST WILDERNESS TC '35 Howard Hill close up aiming with bow & arrow! Date Sold 5/22/2008Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Last Wilderness, the 1935 ("Produced by Jerry Fairbanks"; "Photography by Ned Frost") outdoors nature archery bow-and-arrow hunting documentary (Hill is shown killing a buffalo with his bow and arrow, so that his team can eat, and the movie also shows a wildcat and a coyote fighting to the death, and a mother bear defending her cubs from an attacking killer bear) featuring Howard Hill ("'World's Greatest Archer'"). Note that Howard Hill is widely regarded as the world's greatest archer ever (among his achievements was killing an elephant with a bow and arrow!). He made this, his first movie, in 1935, which was three reels long, and he appeared in 19 other shorts over the next 14 years, and then made "Tembo" in 1952, which he produced, directed, and starred in! Movie paper from "Tembo" is somewhat rare, and movie paper from any of his shorts is beyond rare! Important Added Info: Note that original movie advertising of any kind showing Howard Hill is incredibly rare! This great title card has a wonderful close up image of Hill with a fully drawn bow! Condition: fair to good. There are many tears and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the card, but more so in the right. Someone put clear tape on the front of several of the tears and put a large piece of brown paper tape on the back of the right corner. The edges of the card are fragile. Certainly, the card needs expert restoration, but a talented restorer can remove the tape and once the card is paperbacked, it will look great, and there will be very little restoration anywhere in the image area!
