An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Esso is an oil company that was founded in 1911 when Standard Oil was broken up into 34 companies (with often very complicated naming schemes and rights). The company began as Standard Oil of New Jersey but eventually became known as Esso ("Eastern States Standard Oil"). In the past, the company has also branched into other areas, including tires & batteries (under the name Atlas), kerosene, service stations and more. In modern times, Esso is a trading name for ExxonMobil and its related companies. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this billboard poster was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Also note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: poor. The billboard was exposed to moisture at one time which has caused substantial water staining and some deterioration and paper loss along the foldlines and edges (see our image). It is in need of restoration but please bear in mind the cost of restoration (especially given its very large size). Learn More about condition grades
