An Original 1947 (from the first Italian release of this movie) Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 28" x 39 1/4") (Learn More) Double Cross, the 1941 Albert H. Kelley police murder crime thriller (from the story by John A. Albert) starring Kane Richmond, Pauline Moore, Wynne Gibson, John Miljan, Richard Beach, and Mary Gordon NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Previtali Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had a diamond-shaped area of paper loss in the top and bottom crossfolds (around the size of a quarter), and very tiny paper loss at the middle crossfold. There was a snipe on the center of the top border (extending slightly into the edge of the artwork) that caused the poster to darken unevenly, and areas where there had been two stamps in the middle of the left and right borders which also caused the poster to darken unevenly. There was red writing on the back of the poster that bleeds through in the last letter of the title and in the background area beneath it. There were pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but the restorer did not address the bleed through at the end of the title or the uneven darkening in the borders. Learn More about condition grades
