An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Why Dogs Leave Home, the 1923 Herman C. Raymaker silent canine dog comedy short ("Century Comedy"; about a dog from a poor family that switches places with a millionaire's dog!) starring Brownie the Wonder Dog, Billy Engle, Edith Lee Grant, and Blanche Payson. Note that Brownie the Wonder Dog got his giant break in 1918 playing the title role in Charlie Chaplin's "A Dog's Life"! This led to major stardom and a series of shorts with his name above the title. He starred in 53 movies through 1923, at which point he hopefully retired at the peak of his fame! Also, note that the title lobby card says that Archie Mayo directed this film, while publications from when it was released say that Herman C. Raymaker directed it. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There are creases, tears, scuffs, and areas of paper loss around the edges, but they mostly only affect blank white and solid black areas. The image area is in nice condition. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
