eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 9y148 WASP WOMAN signed TC 1959 by Susan Cabot, who was the female insect-headed monster! Date Sold 10/22/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Wasp Woman, the classic 1959 Roger Corman giant bug insect science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "See: Strong men forced to satisfy a passion no human knows!"; "See: A beautiful woman by day - a lusting queen wasp by night!"; "Written by Leo Gordon") starring Susan Cabot (in the title role as the wasp woman), Fred Eisley, Barboura Morris, William Roerick, and Michael Mark. Note that this movie was guilty of one of the most blatant cases of "false advertising" in an industry filled with unfulfilled promises! The posters and the title card for this movie shows a giant wasp with a woman's head, while the movie delivers a normal-sized woman with a really fake looking wasp head! Also, note that Susan Cabot had a very interesting life, as you can see by clicking on her biography link above. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we auctioned this great signed title card in our last autograph auction, and the buyer did not read the description or look at the image, and did not know that two borders were covered with white tape (see below) and they backed out, which is why we are re-auctioning it. As noted below, it can certainly be displayed as is or restored, but be sure to read our description and look at our image before bidding! Note that this lobby card has been personally autographed (signed) by Susan Cabot! She signed it to Forrest J. Ackerman, and she wrote "To Forry, The nicest man I've ever stung!!" (in reference to her character in this movie). Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good to very good. There is white tape over the bottom and right borders (the printing in the bottom border is there underneath the tape, and you can partially see it through the tape). There are two punch holes in the left blank border. The card could certainly be restored, but since the image is completely unaffected, one might well just display it as it is (see our image). Please do not bid on this great card unless you can either accept its defects or will have it restored! Learn More about condition grades
