An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Howard Hawks' I Was a Male War Bride (released in other English-speaking countries as "You Can't Sleep Here"), the 1949 Howard Hawks post-World War II (WWII) military romantic cross-dressing screwball comedy ("From a Story by Henri Rochard"; "Produced by Sol C. Siegel"; about a provision in the military code that allowed "war brides" to accompany their husbands back home after they are discharged, and Cary Grant has married servicewoman Ann Sheridan, and he wants to take advantage of the provision, but he is not a "war bride"!) starring Cary Grant (in a cross-dressing role!), Ann Sheridan, Marion Marshall, Randy Stuart, and William Neff NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this three-sheet was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and on posters from the 1930s and 1940s there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Sometimes posters from the 1960s or later will have the word "SPANISH" printed in the bottom border (or sometimes stamped on the back of the poster). Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: fair. There is paper loss in the foldline that runs in Sheridan's face. There are some creases and many tears along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and many tiny tears on some foldlines, and some paper loss at some crossfolds. Please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored! Learn More about condition grades
