An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) I See a Dark Stranger (released in the U.S. in 1947 as "The Adventuress"), the 1946 Frank Launder English World War II (WWII) spy espionage thriller ("The woman hunt is on... For the girl with the little black book!"; "'He's after the girl!' with the little black book!"; "Kerr rhymes with star - Time Magazine"; about an Irish woman who hates England so much she becomes a Nazi Spy), starring Deborah Kerr ("*You'll love her... you'll love her brogue!"), Trevor Howard, Raymond Huntley, Michael Howard, Norman Shelley, and Liam Redmond. Note that when this movie was released in the U.S. in 1947, it was re-titled "The Adventuress", with a large head shot of redheaded Deborah Kerr! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, scuffs, separation, and some tiny areas of surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There was a 2" diagonal tear in the middle right of Kerr's hair and a similar tear to the right of that in the green background. There was a 4" irregular tear in the top right of Kerr's hair. There was paper loss in the top left corner, just extending into the edge of the image background, and some pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
