Date Sold 3/19/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) College Capers, the 1953 Elmo Williams 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) college campus sexploitation slapstick comedy short ("Now! The screen comes to life! Thrills you've never seen before!"; "A Novelty in... 3-DIMENSIONS"; "Laugh-Packed!"; "Has anyone seen my panties?"; "Hilarious story of the sensational campus PANTY RAIDS!"; about college girls and a boy who is forced to enter the girls' dormitory) starring Don McArt, Rusty Kaiser, Paul Raymond, Bob Nelson, and Ken Alton. Note that this film was often featured alongside 2D films such as The Maze and Flanagan Boy. It was almost a "lost" film (meaning that no copies existed) because a film archive failed to pick up a collection containing a print, and the collection was then discarded. Luckily, an anaglyph print of this comedy short has been found, and in 2013 it was shown at the 3D Film Expo at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Also, note that Elmo Williams received an Oscar for his editing of the 1952 western classic High Noon. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an early 3D sexploitation movie, and posters for the film are rare to find (we have only auctioned two in all of our years of auctioning, and the last time was in 2017 and this poster is in MUCH nicer condition)! Note also that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D and 2D posters and lobby cards (the 2-D posters and lobby cards were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This poster is from the "3-D" release. Condition: good. There is very light rippling and some slight discoloration scattered in portions of the poster due to exposure to moisture. It has pinholes around the edges (some are torn or enlarged due to rough removal) and some separation in the edges of some of the foldlines at left. There is minor separation in the lower crossfold and it was folded in half an extra time resulting in a light vertical foldline at left and right. The rare poster is otherwise "all there" and certainly it could be restored and linenbacked and it would look great, but please bear in mind its defects before placing a bid.
