And now Alec Guinness as 'The Man in the White Suit'"; "Ealing Studios present another comedy"; about a man who invents fabric that never gets dirty or wears out, and how the garment industry tries to suppress it) starring Alec Guinness ("Britain's Top Comedian will have you in stitches"), Joan Greenwood, Cecil Parker, Michael Gough, and Ernest Thesiger NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these are "country of origin" lobby cards for an undated (probably 1950s) re-release of this classic English movie! How do we know it is a re-release? We recently auctioned a re-release one-sheet that looked incredibly similar to the first release, but it had differences in the distributor logo at bottom left and in the printing at the bottom which told us (and we had it confirmed by experts) that that poster was from when the movie was re-released between 1955 and 1957. We had previously have auctioned a similar poster for "The Third Man", another great English classic. It seems likely that these movies (along with the other great English post-war movies) were all re-released in the time frame beginning in 1955, and continuing for the next two years. Since these lobby cards were found together with that re-release one-sheet, and since it has similar releasing information on it, we think it is highly likely that these lobby cards are from that same re-release. But it is also possible that they simply reused first release lobby cards at that time! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: good to very good. The cards all have scuff marks scattered in the image (it is something to do with the type of paper that these were printed on). The cards have a few brown dot stains in the borders (see our images). Otherwise, they are in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
