Sands of Iwo Jima, the classic 1950 Allan Dwan World War II (WWII) United States Marine Corps (USMC) military action thriller ("A great human story... Makes a mighty motion picture!"; "The Marines have landed... And the situation is well in hand!"; "The Marines' Greatest Hour!") starring John Wayne (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), John Agar, Adele Mara, Forrest Tucker, Wally Cassell, James Brown (NOT the famous singer!), Richard Webb, Arthur Franz, Julie Bishop, James Holden, Peter Coe, and Richard Jaeckel

Condition: good to very good. folded in half an extra time; top 2 1/2" of the poster unevenly folded back at one time; slightly diagonal creases in the top and bottom of the left vertical fold as well as some creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the poster (more so along the foldlines); 2 1/2" tear in the right of the top edge of the poster (repaired with tape from the back) as well as a 1 1/4" tear at upper left extending into Wayne's helmet; tack holes scattered throughout as well as some minor separation and 1/2" and smaller tears along the foldlines and around the edges of the poster. The poster is in better condition than the above makes is sound! Its defects are the sort that respond well to restoration. After linenbacking by a talented professional, the poster would look great, and it would have little paint restoration anywhere on it!
