Date Sold 1/13/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Regis Philbin was a television show host, famous for hosting game shows such as Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and talk shows such as "Live with Regis and Kathy Lee" (later "Regis & Kelly"), which he retired from in 2015. Philbin is one of the longest term successes in Hollywood. In 1961, he was the second banana to Joey Bishop on his talk show, and later became the host of "A.M. Los Angeles" in 1970, and he made that talk show the number one show on daytime TV there. His career has spanned over 50 years. Regis passed away in 2020 at the age of 88. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Regis Philbin! Also note that this still measures 5" x 7" [13 x 18 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Finally, note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased this item years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is likely that the autograph is authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: good. The top left corner was torn off and it was re-attached from the front and back. It does not affect the autograph, but it does affect the inscription (see our image).
