The Sky's The Limit If You Kill Huey Newton, the 1968 poster featuring an image of three Black Panther members standing with "Free Huey" flags in from of a court house. The poster was produced by the Black Panther Party and the "Huey P. Newton Defense Fund", and the photo was taken by Pirkle Jones. Of course Huey Newton was a revolutionary black African-American political activist who, along with Bobby Seale, co-founded the Black Panther Party in 1966. In 1967, Newton was involved in a shootout which led to the death of a police officer. He was convicted in 1968 but that decision was eventually reversed and after two subsequent trials ended in hung juries, the district attorney said he would not pursue a fourth trial. In 1974 he was accused of murdering a woman, but was not convicted for that, and later he achieved a Ph.D in social philosophy from UCSC, but he was murdered in 1989 by a member of the Black Guerilla Party.

Important Added Info: Note that there are likely reproductions of this poster, but this is an original poster that was printed in 1968 by the Black Panther Party.

Condition: good. There are faint brown water stains scattered through the poster and it has darkened unevenly. There are diagonal creases in the bottom blank corners. In spite of these defects, this rare and historic poster can be displayed and enjoyed as it is, or certainly restoration could be performed.
