An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 22 3/4" x 37 1/2" [58 x 95 cm]) (Learn More)

the international release of Captain America II: Death Too Soon, the 1979 Ivan Nagy made-for-TV comic book superhero action adventure science fiction (sci-fi) thriller sequel ("Super Crusader! Super Crimefighter! Super Enforcer of Justice"; based on the classic Marvel comic book character) starring Reb Brown (in the title role as Steve Rogers/Captain America), Christopher Lee, Lana Wood ("as Yolanda"), Connie Sellecca, Len Birman, and Katherine Justice. Note that there were TWO of these made-for-TV movies in 1979, and both received international theatrical releases. Certainly, the second of these is far more desireable from a collector's standpoint, because it included Christopher Lee in the cast. The first movie was released internationally as simply "Captain America", and when the second movie was released internationally, it was also simply titled "Captain America" (no doubt because the distributors knew that many people would not have seen the first movie, and they did not want to turn them off if they named the movie "Captain America II"). Of course, this calling both movies by the same name creates much confusion!

Artist: Tom Wright
Important Added Info: Note that apparently they had a similar situation in Argentina to that in the U.S., in that there was a large Spanish speaking population in America in the 1930s and 1940s, and studios would create dubbed versions of their movies in Spanish, and they would release them to U.S. theaters in areas that had large Spanish speaking populations, and they would print special posters that said "Hablada en Espanol". We have only seen a very few Argentinean posters like this, which were apparently printed for use in areas of Argentina where Castilian was spoken, and there was a dubbed version of this movie created, and this poster reads "Hablada en Castellano", which makes it a very interesting curiosity. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 22 3/4" x 37 1/2" [58 x 95 cm].

Condition: poor to fair. The poster was trimmed on all four sides, affecting the star studded border area and the tagline at the top.
