An Unfolded Special Poster (measures 22" x 29" [56 x 74 cm]) (Learn More) Gil (Gillette) Elvgren was an American pin-up artist and illustrator from the 1930s to 1980. His clients ranged from Brown and Bigelow and Coca-Cola to General Electric and Sealy Mattress Company. In addition, during the 1940s and 1950s he illustrated stories for a host of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping. He is one of the most important pin-up and glamour artists of the twentieth century. He passed away in 1980 at the age of 66. Artist: Gil Elvgren Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It has patches of oily staining in portions of the right half (see our image). There is a blank border tear at upper left that has been repaired with tape from the back.
