An Original 1966 (from the first release of this movie in Hungary) Vintage Theatrical Folded Hungarian Movie Poster (measures 15 1/2" x 22 1/4" [39 x 57 cm]) (Learn More)

L'heure de la verite (literally translates to "The Hour of Truth"), the 1965 Henri Calef French/Israeli German World War II (WWII) Jewish engineer Holocaust survivor melodrama (set in Israel in the early 1960s, about a Jewish concentration camp survivor living with his wife, and an American journalist arrives to do a story on him, and slowly it comes out that he was actually the Nazi commander of the camp, who had numbers tattooed on him as the war ended, so that he could pose as a Jewish survivor!) starring Corinne Marchand, Karlheinz Bohm (billed as "Karl Boehm"), Daniel Gelin, Brett Halsey, and Michele Girardon. Note that Karl Bohm had come to stardom in the German "Sissi" movies (as the handsome prince), and he spent the next years making very unusual choices in the movies he made, including his most famous, as the star of Michael Powell's "Peeping Tom". In this movie, he also plays a very unsympathetic character! Note that we don't know how much release, if any, this French/Israeli movie received in any English-speaking countries, including the U.S., likely due to its plot, but those who have seen it say it is an excellent movie with a great performance by Bohm, and that it deserves to be "rediscovered".
