Date Sold 6/24/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 4 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Key Book Stills (Learn More) Zane Grey's Nevada, the 1927 John Waters silent romantic love triangle cowboy western melodrama ("From the novel by Zane Grey"; about a pair of cattle rustlers who want to go straight, but one gets involved with the sister of the man they work for, and there are other problems too!) starring Gary Cooper (in the title role as Nevada), Thelma Todd (in her third credited movie role!), William Powell (in one of his early silent roles, playing a "heavy", before he became a top star once he made talking pictures and people heard his wonderful voice), Phillip Strange, and Ernie Adams NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this set of stills has a great provenance! Johnny Crawford, who first came to fame as the son in the TV series "The Rifleman" and later became a band leader loved movies, and early on he collected many movie stills and more. This set of 8x10 stills was consigned to us from his collection! Note also that the stills are glued to a linen-like backing (we think it is highly likely that these are key book stills, and that someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the top or left of the still, no doubt so it could be put in a frame). Note that we previously auctioned a set of six stills from this film from the same collection, and while those had great shots of Cooper, none of those were candids, and those sold for $370! Condition: very good. As noted above, approximately 1" of the right edge of each key book still was neatly trimmed off. Each has a few light scuffs that are mostly only noticeable when the still is tilted to the light and the still pictured at lower right has a faint smudge at left.
