Giger was a Swiss surrealist artist, sculptor, movie set designer and director from the 1970s to the 2010s. He is certainly best remembered for originating the sets and aliens from the Alien series. Some of the other movies featuring his sets and artwork include: Species I & II, and Dark Seed I & II, as well as directing a few movies including Swiss Made, Giger's Necronomicon, and Giger's Alien. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 74. Artist: H.R. Giger Important Added Info: Note that this art print has been personally autographed (signed) by H.R. Giger and hand-numbered 38/99! The print has a stamp on the back of the bottom right corner from the Swiss publisher (see our second image). Also note that long before Alamo Drafthouse started their incredibly successful limited edition prints (which morphed into the Mondo company), a very small number of early pioneers like H.R. Giger were doing the very same thing! But because there were not enough collectors back in the late 1960s and early 1970s, there was not enough support for projects like these, so they did not evolve into a Mondo-like business, and that is a shame. Very early signed and numbered prints rarely are offered for sale or at auction. We were consigned two Giger limited edition prints, this one and also "A Rhesus Positiv" from 1970, and we are auctioning them in two separate auctions! Condition: very good. The poster has a light diagonal crease in the bottom left blank corner and a few faint creases and smudges around the edges. Learn More about condition grades
