An Autographed 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Guy Lombardo was Canadian-American bandleader and violinist (of Italian descent) from the 1920s to the 1970s. Lombardo formed the Royal Canadians in 1924 with his brothers Carmen, Lebert, and Victor, and other musicians from his hometown. They billed themselves as creating "the sweetest music this side of Heaven". The Lombardos are believed to have sold between 100 and 300 million records during their lifetimes, many featuring the band's lead singer, Kenny Gardner. Some of his works include: Tea For Two, Star Dust and Auld Lang Syne (his orchestra became so associated with that song that he performed it on television every New Year's Eve!). He passed away in 1977 at the age of 75. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Guy Lombardo! Note that this signed item is from the estate of Gino Empry, who was a legendary Toronto publicist and agent from the early 1960s through the early 2000s (he passed away in 2006). He had publicity photos of celebrities he worked with that were personalized to him and signed attached to his walls, and many of those were consigned to us, and while we have no certificate of authenticity, we are 100% certain they are authentic (although many have some damage that was caused by their being attached to a wall or being roughly removed). Also note that this still measures 8" x 9 3/4" [20 x 25 cm], but it has not been trimmed. Finally, note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
