An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 16" x 20" [41 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Carroll Baker (born Karolina Piekarski) is an actress from the 1950s to the 2000s. She had a tiny part in 1953's "Easy to Love", but that did not lead to anything, and she joined the Actors Studio in New York and got a few Broadway parts before getting her big break in 1956 in "Giant"! Some of her movies include: The Big Country, Giant, Baby Doll (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), How the West Was Won, and Harlow (where she played Jean Harlow!). After the Harlow movie in 1965, when she was 34, and good roles were getting scarce, she moved to Europe where she made some Italian and German movies. In 1982, at the age 51, she married actor Donald Burton, and they remained married until he passed away in 2007. As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 90! Important Added Info: Note that this is part of a remarkable find of 33 16" x 20" color transparencies from the 1960s (which we are auctioning in 33 separate auctions)! Prior to being consigned these 33, we had never auctioned even one transparency that was over 8" x 10" in size, and in fact, we did not even know that any studios made them larger. Each of the 33 is of a Hollywood star of the 1960s (a few of them we could not immediately identify, but we imagine someone viewing them will quickly let us know who those stars are). These are surely studio produced, as they are very high quality, and can certainly be used to make poster size blow-ups of the images. Unfortunately, we do not have a scanner large enough to scan these, so we took a picture of them with a light source behind them, but that only gives you a good idea of what the image looks like, and does NOT show you how incredibly high quality each transparency is! This is a very special auction of 366 extremely rare negatives and transparencies of various sizes, and also lots of sets of 35mm slides. EVERY single item in this auction is either "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets), OR it is a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture). Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "studio issue" or "camera originals". We have divided them by type and size. Also note that this auction is for one or more transparencies, and every one of the auctions of transparencies we are currently running have been scanned expertly. This auction contains the scan(s) of the transparencies in this auction, and, except in the case of very few larger sets of transparencies, we scanned each one individually (see above for what we did on this specific auction), and we have added an "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. The winner of this auction and ONLY the winner of this auction will, upon request, be sent the UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the transparencies in this auction, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make positive prints of the items they purchased, if they desire. However, if it indicates above that we did not scan all the transparencies in this auction (which is only true of a very few transparencies), then of course we can only send you the photos we took of the ones we did not scan. Condition: very good to fine. The transparency is in excellent condition and will be sent to the winning bidder in a protective plastic bag! Learn More about condition grades
